When my computer starts up, a screen pops up saying "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. Try: removing problem tab or start new browsing session." How can I prevent this from occurring?

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).

  • click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.

Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.

I always log out of my browser and the accounts I was on before I close my Mozilla. I disconnect from the internet and when I go back onto the internet I always find this error message upon opening Mozilla to access my internet accounts. This seems odd. I do not get error reports or offers to report the error. Would just like to get rid of the problem or find out why it keeps doing this

Did you verify in the Windows Task Manager that all Firefox instances are closed?

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox title bar.

  • "3-bar" menu button > Exit (Power button)
  • Windows: File > Exit
  • Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox
  • Linux: File > Quit

If you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" then try to disable this feature.
