I have created a newsletter with inline images in html. When I insert the html when writing the email and send it, the inline images are all correctly placed and the newsletter email looks fine except that the images are added again as attachments at the bottom of the newsletter when viewed in the recipient's mailbox. They are listed there with file size and a download option. How can I prevent the images from being attached at the bottom?

Without the source of an email it is almost impossible to answer this.
