Trying to install in MacOS 10.11.5, I get an error message: "Can't open disk image. Protocol wrong type for socket."

The disk image file downloads and displays on the desktop as "Firefox 47.0.dmg" The disk image file does not open automatically. When the .dmg file is double clicked, a box with the above error message appears.

Try to reload the DMG file. You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (47.0) in all languages and all operating systems here:

I have reloaded the full version multiple times with the same result.
