I had an error message XPCOM. I went to my program files & removed all the Mozilla Firefox files. I then download & install Firefox via my Internet Explorer 9 Browser. It installs the version 43.0.1. I close & restart Browser & then check for updates. It then installs version 47.0.1 & tells me "Firefox is up to date". I had version 48.0.1 before I had this problem.

hi hgw53t, updates to firefox 48 are currently disabled on purpose until a startup crash there is investigated and addressed.

To explain why you get 43.0.1 and not current Release from www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ as it is not possible to tell if the WinXP user has SP2 or SP3 installed as SP2 cannot run the 43.0.2 or newer setups due to signing.
