All incoming messages dissappeared on the account, Inbox is blank. Drafts, sent and deleted are still available. Since the e-mail doesn't exist longer we cannot download them, they are deleted from server. But all messages should still be saved in local folder: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xgr7a3fa.default\ImapMail\imap.emailarray-1.com

Is it possible to get the inbox from local folder back to Thunderbird? Many thanks in advance.

did your phone delete the messages as it accessed them?

I didn't use the phone. This is a problem of Thunderbird on pc. The e-mail adress was deleted from server, we don't use that e-mail provider anymore. But we left the account on pc to check old e-mails, now all e-mails are lost.

And the mail account was IMAP?

Yes, it was IMAP.

Well, that's how IMAP is supposed to work. You store the messages on a server and you view them in an email client. Delete what's on the server and it all goes away.

Close Thunderbird, locate your profile and move the appropriate mbox files (Inbox, Sent, Junk etc) to a subfolder under …\Mail\Local Folders. You'll have to do a bit of poking around to check which account folder you need to be in. Start at …\ImapMail. The contents may re-appear when you re-start Thunderbird. If not, you could try this add-on:

https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/index-en.html#recDelMsg

or alternatively hand-edit the message store files to reset a deleted flag on each message.
