Thunderbird sees, then rejects my backed up Profile

Hello!

I made the mistake of deleting the emails on my Yahoo server. But at least I made a backup of my Thunderbird emails first.

If I copy the backup Profile to the users/~/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/~ folder before I open Thunderbird, it sees them and everything is fine. If I close and reopen it, though, it no longer sees any of the mailboxes or emails in this Profile.

Ideally, I could export these emails (there are many thousands of them), but just being able to access them easily without a 20-minute reinstallation every time would be great.

Any ideas?
