Yahoo sends me notifications that old insecure browsers and emails are not allowed. I go to fix it on their site (turn on or off insecure emails) - but does not hold - it again is not allowed. So there is no workaround. BS I think Yahoo hates Mozilla.

Hi Paul, Your account is currently not enabled to sign in from apps that do not meet modern security standards (ex. Older versions of mail and calendar apps such as Outlook).

As a result, we prevented a sign in to your Yahoo account (smile2u2day). Date and Time: July 19, 2017 6:32:48 PM PDT Location: Washington, United States (IP Address: 161.55.6.7)

We strongly recommend that you switch to Yahoo's apps such as Yahoo Mail on desktop and mobile and remove your account from all other less secure apps.

If you still want to use an app that uses less secure sign in, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/security#other-apps and turn on "Allow apps that use less secure sign in". This is not recommended and may leave your account more vulnerable to compromise. To learn more, please visit our help page: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html.

Yahoo blocked this sign in attempt, but if it looks suspicious to you, or it's not from an application that you're using, go to https://login.yahoo.com/account/change-password - and change the password for your account. Sincerely, Yahoo Replies sent to this email cannot be answered.

Hi Paul, You just changed a security setting to block apps that may use a less secure sign in method from accessing your Yahoo account. This improves the security to access your account, which is a good thing! This security change may cause some email applications that use a less secure sign in method - to stop working.

Use the Yahoo Mail app for Android and iOS, which includes important security features.

You can also use Yahoo Mail via https://mail.yahoo.com. For more information, visit our help page at: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html.

Sincerely, Yahoo

At work I have a federal desktop Dell PC running Windows 10. Everything else works well. At home I have a HP windows 7 desktop.

Everything was ok for T-Bird running Yahoo mail - until early July maybe. Now I have to use a browser open + running - just to have yahoo access. BS

You'll have to allow apps that may use a less secure sign in method in your Yahoo settings.
