Ever since the last firefox update, I can't log into my gmail account.

I recently updated my 64 bit machine to Firefox 55.0.2. Afterward, when attempting to log into my gmail account and entering my username, the username gets overwritten and does not get transmitted to gmail. No problem getting to me gmail with Edge.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Under Logins, Turn on Remember Logins. To check the passwords you have listed, press Saved Logins.
