Hi.

I have Gmail with IMAP. I have set some of my folders to synchronize, including All Mail, Trash and Sent Mail. I've sent the synchronization options to be - Synchronize most recent 2 years - Don't download messages bigger than 1500 KB - Don't delete messages - Always keep starred messages is checked.

If I tell Thunderbird to go offline, it downloads about 40,000 messages in All Mail folder (and 16,000 in Sent Mail and so on). Once it has finished downloading, it tells me it can compact the folders and save me 9GB. If I tell it to compact, some of my messages disappear (and my Trash has LOTS of messages that should be in Sent Mail).

If I then go online, and tell Thunderbird to go offline again, it downloads 40,000 messages in All Mail again, and tells me I can compact it.

What's going on?

Uri David

Please file a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Thunderbird and if the CC field shows, put in aceman.
