Sonic Studio audio equalizer doesn't work with Firefox 57.0.3

I recently started using Sonic Studio 1.1.17 that is included in the driver package (latest from Asus website) of my new Asus Xonar U7 MKII. The problem is that Sonic Studio audio eq settings and audio profiles do not work properly with Firefox 57 when watching/listening YouTube, Netflix etc. Everything is fine when I, for example, start playing a song from Youtube but as soon as I change to a different song/video or jump forward/back, my audio settings are lost (i.e. audio comes out flat although the audio settings themselves do not visibly reset). The problem can be awkwardly and temporarily solved by restarting Firefox. Reinstalling/resetting Firefox doesn't help. I have no audio-related extensions or plug-ins installed.

I tested Sonic Studio with Microsoft Edge, Spotify and various media players without any issues.

Can I suggest you explore the ASUS forums or the ROG forums as have nothing on the issue.

The solutions you posted could help if audio/video wouldn't play at all but this not the case here. I have zero problems with video quality for example. It's just that Firefox seems to forget my audio eq settings after I use normal playback functions. Here's an example:

1. Open Firefox 2. Go to Youtube or any other streaming service 3. Play any video/audio 4. Audio is ok 5. Jump forward, say, 2 seconds by clicking the playback bar 6. Eq settings are gone i.e. audio becomes "flat" 7. Check Sonic Studio - everything is ok 8. Turn eq off and on again - no change 9. Open Edge -> Youtube -> sounds fine -> eq off -> flat sound -> eq on -> sound ok 10. Back to Firefox (the same instance as before) -> flat sound 11. Restart Firefox -> Youtube 12. Audio is fine until I click the playback bar or change video

Running Firefox in safemode makes no diffenrence.

I'm no software professional but the procedure I described above makes me suspect that this could be a Firefox issue and not related to Sonic Studio specifically. I already submitted a bug report to bugzilla.mozilla.org. This is an obscure issue for sure, but maybe they could atleast figure out if it's a Firefox bug or something else...

Do not open another post to ask the same question because you did not get replies or the answer you wanted.

I already asked your to check out the ASUS forums or the ROG forums. I see no report back that you did that. It is a function that if you have questions; ask in all forums or resources to try to find the answer to your issue. They may have the answer. This is a specialized EQ your talking about. You want to try an few things. These answers are easy to find .

Try this : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.3 with a Full Version Installer

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Yes, that was my mistake. I accidentally posted my question to finnish forum, so the post was not visible on english forums (I think?) where I intented to post it. Finnish forums are not very active.

Yes, I had to create an account there and it is still not active (anti-spam measures by mods). I will ask around when I can. Search yielded no results...

I have tried all relevant troubleshooting steps. No further assistance needed. I'll reply with a follow-up if I find a solution. Thanks for trying to help.

Copy/Paste about:config in to the Address Bar then Enter Copy/Paste security.sandbox.content.level into the above's Search Line at page top and change - from 2 to 3. Restart Firefox and Test.

After following troubleshooting steps, I have a fresh Firefox installation and security.sandbox.content.level integer is at 3 by default.

...and tried different valid integer values to no effect.
