When I go to Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks, none of my bookmarks appear. When I click on the Organize button, all of the options (such as New Bookmark, New Folder, etc) are greyed out so I can't add any folders or reorganize them.

Oddly, when I bookmark a page, the bookmark is accepted -- but it doesn't appear in the Library.

I have tried everything I can think of -- I've uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it from scratch, I've tried restoring my bookmarks from when they were working fine, I've imported bookmarks from Chrome, I've disabled my add-ons -- but nothing works.

I am using Windows 10 Home version. Any idea what the heck is going on?

Thanks.

JEP

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page

If "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page can't repair the places.sqlite database then remove all places.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Thanks for this info. I must admit I can't understand a word of it, but I will get a Dell support person to help me with it. With luck, it will solve the problem.
