Tabs for You Tube display "(1) YouTube" no other sites - what is it

Can not find any info on (1) in the tab name - only happens with you tube - multiple tab all the same - all other sites OK

That's a feature of YouTube. Check the Notifications (bell icon - upper-right) section of a YouTube page when you are signed in to Google+.
