Hello, I have recently updated from windows xp to 7 (64 bit) and now my Firefox crashes my Os. It crashes as soon as I open any website (never crashes with the new tab page, or the "restore session" page open). When the OS crashes It freezes for 3 seconds then I get a black screen, there is no bsod so no error message from windows that can help me. Firefox is the only application that crashes the OS to. I have tried: updating most drivers, updating bios, updating Firefox to newest beta, browsing in private mode, fully resetting browser (addons settings etc). None of these worked. I also preformed hardware diagnostics on memory and HD, they work fine. Anyone have an idea what it could be, or how to find out?

Hi, since running version 63 please : If you have a bug, file a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Bug Writing Guidelines : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

Thank you, however 'about:crashes' does not have any listed crash reports.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
