Java is failing to load in recent Firefox version 62. PFA.

I have re-installed Java, Firefox. Refreshed Firefox.

Java works in IE.

The only way to get it working in Firefox is to downgrade it to version 52/esr

Sorry, Firefox 52 ESR is the last Firefox version with Java support. Most modern browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge at least) have now removed support for Java and similar plugins. This was announced several years ago:

Really, websites should update as soon as possible. Firefox 52 will no longer be updated for security & stability issues.
