I recently acquired a new laptop and did a new install of Thunderbird. I transferred all my message files from my old laptop (Inbox and a lot of Local folders). In the new installation all my Local folder messages appeared but none of my Inbox messages.

On startup the Inbox message appear momentarily but then 'disappear' - so TB is recognizing them if only fleetingly.

How can I ensure that these Inbox message appear in my Inbox?

Thanks

How and what did you transfer from the old laptop to the new one? The easiest and most effective way to transfer from one installation to another is to copy the Thunderbird folder:
