I want each new tab to go the Google search page. Why can't I do this?

As it is, in the 'new tab' settings, there's a grand total of just TWO choices - either Firefox's home page, or a blank page. Seriously, is that it??

Grateful for any assistance...

Thanks for the response. So I need an add-on for something so basic?? Seriously? Streuth! I think I'll pass.

I hear you,   but everybody might want a different page to open .....

What I do :

On the new tab page I have set Google as one of my Top Sites;   it only takes me a
split second to get Google to open once I've clicked the "open new tab" plus sign.

Would that work for you ?

Hello StuartS67,

You   can   do it ......

This add-on will let you set the new tab page to any page you like :

What you could also do is set Google as your homepage.

That way, instead of clicking on the "open new tab" plus sign, you'd just
have to click on the "Home" button, while pressing the Cmd key.

Just a thought .....
