Migrated to another PC. Everything works but cannot receive emails, but can send.
Hi, I've followed the instructions closely to migrate my profile onto another machine. Everything is there, all emails and settings are correct for incoming and outgoing servers. I have 2 windows 10 PC's with identical Thunderbird installations. The original one works fine, but the new one cannot receive emails - status just says '(email address) connected to mail.livemail.uk' and stays there.
The only difference is that the new version is 78.0.1 32 bit and the old one is 68.10.0 32 bit Has any kind soul got some ideas? Thanks Chris

Stick to v68 on the other PC. You can download v68 from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/68.10.0/win32/ and migrate the profile afresh.

Hi Chris, I have exactly the same problem:
* Fasthosts mail server: unable to receive emails but could send. * Names mail server: OK
I also tried installing Thunderbird 78.0.1 on a vanilla Windows 10. Still no luck. But the 68.11 worked fine.
I did try reinstalling an older Thunderbird, but a dialog popped up and said the profile was not compatible. Have you had any success?
Hi, I installed 68.10 (32 bit)on the new machine (64 bit) copied the original profiles over, and selected the original profile on help-troubleshooting-about: profiles. Its been working OK - I am now leaving well alone!!
Thanks! Think I may have to resort to exporting from v78, and then importing to v68 with an add-on :(

Don't you have a backup of your v68 profile folder?
Sadly the back ups are way too old!...Got daily/weekly backups of everything else! :( I know, I know...not backing up data is a completely novice error. It just slipped through the digital cracks so to speak.

Not necessarily. Have you tried a new v78 profile instead?
As said in the above link, I have the same issue: Thunderbird v78 says it is connected to the server, but it sticks here and does not read the email, ... unless I disable the security, which is quite dangerous nowadays.
