Why does Thunderbird vanish when I minimise it? Unlike any other software I use, it does not minimise to the taskbar, nor is it visible when I use Alt-Tab to scroll through open programs. I have to keep restarting the program. Is there a way to fix this?

I wonder how you minimise it as your the first person in ten year to appear here with that issue.

I use Windows 10 and I click on the Minimise button at the top right of the screen, exactly the same as with any other program. I've done it just now and it didn't go to the taskbar, it just vanished. When it disappears, the Task Manager doesn't show it running in Apps but it does appear in the Background Processes list. Restarting it with the Task Manager visible makes Thunderbird reappear in the Apps list.

It's obviously still running in the background because when I restart it, it instantly reappears without the smallest delay. This behaviour is unlike any other software I've used, including email clients.
