As shown [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox|her...], under the "URL autocomplete" section, there is this feature that auto completes what you are currently typing in the address bar. Where does one enable/disable this feature?

Thanks for your answer

That would probably about this pref on the about:config page.

  • browser.urlbar.autoFill = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".

Hm, it still doesn't work as I expected. I didn't describe it properly, is there a way to make it instantly fill in the url in the url bar, just like the urls are instantly filled in if they are in your history? Or do you have to add them to your history for that to work? Obviously one can also just press tab to fill in the next suggestion, but I was wondering whether this behaviour could be extended to non-bookmarked items.

Apparently being a bookmark isn't even required for it to autocomplete without pressing tab. Perhaps you just need to use it frequently enough?
