Cannot set print with system dialog as default anymore

more options

Previously I could go into about:config and set "print.tab_modal.enabled" to false and the system dialog would be the default print UI. Now this no longer works and I am stuck with the new built-in print UI.

This wouldn't be a problem, but for my business we have receipt printers that have some paper handling settings that the built-in print UI does not cover.

Please help! Having to click the link for "print using system dialog" every time doesn't sound like much, but when business gets heavy and there's a long line of customers, that little extra step becomes very frustrating.

Unfortunately, for now, you will have to click that link. There are bugs on file to add a new user preference to bypass the preview, and/or a new keyboard shortcut. Those might arrive in Firefox 98 in a few weeks, but since they are not in testing yet, it could be a later version.

For business use, you might consider running the Extended Support Release of Firefox 91. The ESR series get one major annual update and then in the other months, just critical security updates. More info: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/enterprise/

Thanks for the reply. I’ll definitely look into the ESR. Appreciate you!
