Idiot question but when I select a pdf file from a web page it goes into the built in pdf viewer fine and displays the document. However, I can't, for the life of me, find out how to return to the original web page and continue!

Chosen solution

If it's opening the PDF in same tab, you should be able to just click the Back button on toolbar. You can also try CTRL-Left Clicking the link to open it in a new tab.
