Compose Email
Sorry if this is a silly question, I'm - new to Thunderbird. What are the two small lines i.e. -- on the compose email page? Can they be permanently removed? They seem change the text formatting from the Calibri I have set.

Those characters have been part of email for decades and are accepted generally by email clients as the break line to remove signatures when replying to a message. However, if you want them gone, see this URL: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Signatures_(Thunderbird)#Removing_the_signature_separator
