I have had a PC die but it seems that Hard Drive is still readable so I would like to be able to recover the saved password file(s). 2 were mentioned but are these readable file or do I have to replace a current working version on another PC.

Best Wishes Jim

PS the PC that failed , the OS is (x)ubuntu 20:04 LTS

Hi,

  • key4.db
  • logins.json

Contains the Passwords.

Your Firefox-Profil is stored in the hidden directory .mozilla in your /home. (You have to show hidden Files with Ctrl +h to see it).

If you use the Firefox from Snap-Store you find the Profil in the snap Folder in your /home.

Edit: Of coarse you can save the whole Profilfolder and re-import it later.
