Hi. This is a recent problem. Both TB icons on the taskbar show new mail, but there is no unread mail. The only way I seem able to get rid of these messages is to close TB and open it again. Any ideas?

Settings/General/Incoming Mail, App Icon Options, select Count of unread messages.

Hi Sfhowes, I'll give it a go, though the number has been varying between 30, 6 and now 50 over the afternoon, with only 2 incoming messages. Since I changed the setting, it's reduced from 50 to 6, although there are no new or unread messages. I'll see what happens when i restart.

No, that didn't help - the count increased from 6 to 8 when both new and unread should be zero

Hm! Those 8 seem to be in Local Folders/Inbox and seem to be mainly spam - no idea why they are there (from weeks ago) or why the number has been going up and down so markedly in a single day!

What IS Local Folders/Inbox? Currently, it has 10 unread emails, all spam

An Inbox under Local Folders is probably a Global Inbox for POP accounts.

Rather than try to untangle your current profile, I recommend creating a new profile and adding accounts and other data incrementally. It will probably save a lot of time.

Help/More Troubleshooting, about:profiles; creating a new profile doesn't affect the current one.
