Tabs Problem!

All,

Noticed a major problem in Fire Fox, that must be corrected! I usually have 2-20 FF sessions open and 5-20 tabs also open in each FF session. FF used to let you see up to about 15 tabs, displaying them and responsively compressing the width of the tabs,to let you see what is open, but now it only displays 3 tabs, requiring you to actually scroll right or left to find the tabs open.

Totally unacceptable! This maybe OK for NEWBIES, but we pros and Developers need to see everything without scrolling to find it.

Otherwise I totally need a different Browser!

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or developers. If you want to leave feedback for developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Share ideas and feedback…. Alternatively, you can use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

You can also file a bug report or feature request. See File a bug report or feature request for Mozilla products for details.

If this hasn't cleared up by now:

Is there something else taking up space on the tab bar? You can go into the Customize screen to see what is there and move most controls/buttons between bars. This article has the details: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

There is a "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom of the Customize panel, if things get worse or get lost.

Note that you can adjust browser.tabs.tabMinWidth in about:config to make more tabs fit ( minimum = 50).

cor-el,

Though that changes the tab width, it does not fix theproblem as the space for the tabs is fixed from the right hand, not totally flexible as it used to be; therefore, good suggestion but not a fix, as the progrmmers ASSUMED the the FF user is the average user & does not need the full service originally delivered with FireFox!

Must be fixed or will have to get a different unsecure broswer as only FF is Secure and recomended by the IISC which makes all laws for the iNet!

Cheers! TBNK

What else is using space on your tab bar besides tabs and left/right scroll buttons? Typically the items to the right would be:

  • the "+" (new tab) button and the "V" (list all tabs) button, both of which are removable
  • some "drag space"
  • the default Windows buttons, which are not removable.

Does yours look different?
