When opening my firefox browser page, I get a sound like an ambulance siren, and sounds that a tech at Cox Communications id'ed as PacMan noise. The tech also stated that he heard the same noise on the Google browser page yesterday. Any suggestions/solutions?

uninstall Cool Preview, and the problem will go away!

Looks like the problem is with Adobe flash plugin for Firefox. Removing Adobe flash plugin then reinstallint it fixed the problem with me. But I have to avoid google meanwhile.

I had the same problem (Firefox 3.6.3 for OpenSuse). Like Tonio wrote, just uninstall (or deactive) CoolPreviews and the noise is gone after restart of Firefox.

The cause seems to be connected with the fact that google homepage is now a pacman game. There must be some weird interference with cool preview.

Anyway with cool preview disabled it is fixed.

it seems they fixed is... as a lot of people start up with google as their homepage, a lot of people seem to be having this problem...

change your start page to something else then google.com

Cool Previews loads Google in the background for some reason, so you have to go to your add-on manager and disable Cool Previews. If Google didn't auto start their flash it wouldn't cause this issue.
