Firefox says it will install addons on restart, but doesn't even after extensions.* and compatibility.ini file renames. I've done this drill twice.

I'm using Redhat. I know how to kill the process using kill. Trust me, I actually closed it.

Firefox version 3.0.19. (I don't have the option of reinstalling, unless I do a local install.)

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Hello Mike,

we have found out that the Firefox version you currently use (3.0.19) is no longer up-to-date.

Please use the update feature to get the latest Firefox update, you can find additional instructions in the Update Firefox to the latest release article!

See if the problems that you have persist!

Kind regards, Tobbi Firefox Support Volunteer
