I don't know what or why but my saved passwords have disappeared a couple of different times now. I've read the article on passwords, but that has not solved the mystery or answered my question.

This happened

Just once or twice

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?

If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted. Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

yes, I do mean names and passwords in the Password Manager, not the latter.

I do however regularly intentionally (paranoid perhaps?) clear recent history, and have only occasionally noticed that the names and passwords in the Password Manager have disappeared after that.

Thank you for your response.

Sorry, overlooked adding my name to that post.
