If all you are missing is the Status Bar, you do not need to use the Customize Toolbars dialog; simply click View, click Status Bar to place a check mark next to it.

If your Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History...Help) is missing, see: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing

If other toolbars or buttons are missing, see: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Back+and+forward+or+other+toolbar+items+are+missing

In addition, you have out-of-date plug-ins with known security issues. You should update them.

  • Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5
  • Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_20 for Mozilla browsers
  1. Check your plugin versions: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
    • Note: plugin check page does not have information on all plugin versions
  2. Update Shockwave for Director
    • NOTE: this is not the same as Shockwave Flash; this installs the Shockwave Player.
    • Use Firefox to download and SAVE the installer to your hard drive from the link in the article below (Desktop is a good place so you can find it).
    • When the download is complete, exit Firefox (File > Exit)
    • locate and double-click in the installer you just downloaded, let the install complete.
    • Restart Firefox and check your plugins again.
    • Download link and more information: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Shockwave+plugin+with+Firefox
  3. Update Java:

dilipkumar...:

Original poster is using Firefox 3.6.10, so your information relating to Firefox 4.0beta7 does not apply. The Status Bar:

  • is still present in all Firefox 3.6.x versions (at least through 3.6.12)
  • was present in Firefox 4.0beta1 - 4.0beta6
  • is replaced by the Add-ons Bar in Firefox 4.0beta7
