I can't get the Firefox or Thunderbird icon on my desktop. I have a folder that sits on my desktop instead of the logo icon. Help.

I cannot get the world with fox or the world with bird icons to come up on my desktop as shortcuts. All I get is a generic looking folder icon. How can I get the logo icons to populate on my desktop.

I'm not that familiar with Win 7 but the following should do the job:

Using "My Computer", navigate to the folder containing the Mozilla Firefox program files. Find the "firefox.exe" file. Right-click AND hold on that file. Drag the file to your desktop and release your right button. A pop-up menu will appear with some options. Left click on "Create Short cut here." You should then have the normal FF icon on your desktop. You can rename the icon if you wish.

Do the same thing for Thunderbird except go to the folder with the Thunderbird program files and find the file "thunderbird.exe". Repeat the steps as above.
