How to edit Google Docs on Droid X

more options

I have been unable to successfully edit Google Docs using Firefox on my Droid X. I'm able to load the Docs main page, but when I click on a Doc it takes me to the full browser version of the Doc (not the mobile version). When I click on the text and attempt to edit, Firefox freezes. I tried downloading the plugin Phony to access the iPhone versions of the Docs since I had success on my iPhone in the past. When Phony is turned on, it takes me to the iPhone version of Docs but when I attempt to edit I get a blue screen and nothing happens.

It is something we are tracking to be resolved as part of the final release of Firefox Mobile 4. Spoofing the Android Browser user agent allows the reading of the documents but not editing text documents.

Though there may some work that the Google Docs team could do to make things easier you can leave them feeback at http://docs.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=feedback make sure to set the os to Linux and the browser to other.
