the re=load icon was like a "ying &yang" with two circular arrows going in opposite directions. the stop re-load was a red X. the home icon was a yellow de -picture of a house.

It looks like the reload and stop icons have been merged to save space but you still get the functionality of both.

To get the Home icon back please try this: right-click on the left edge of the address bar (on the icon for the currently loaded site or the empty tab) and choose Customize..... Alternatively View (or Alt + V) > Toolbars > Customize.... If the Home icon is present in the window that appears you can drag it back to the Navigation Toolbar.

To have separate reload and stop icons (this works for me and it looks ugly): While at the Customize window, drag the stop (X) icon to the left of the reload icon and then drag the reload icon a lil' bit towards the right and put it back but still at the changed position ie. to the right of the X icon. To revert, open Customize again and drag the reload icon back to the left of X.
