Firefox has worked great for years - until yesterday when there was no sound from Firefox-accessed sites - and when I click on the word "Firefox" next to the Apple and then click onto "Preferences" I get only a blank page captioned "Advanced" - so Question No. 1. How do I get "Preferences" restored and Question No. 2 How do I get sound restored? When I access the same site on Safari, the sound is there.

Hi fromclee-

When you open Preferences in Firefox, Advanced is just one of the options within the General Preferences window. I'm not sure why it would be blank, though.

For the sound issue, here is an article on how to deal with audio problems in Firefox:

Fix common audio and video issues

I hope that helps.
