I have FF delete all my cookies each time I log off, but my bank needs to leave its cookie on all the time. How do I do that?
I have my FF security set to delete my cookies when I log off FF. I have a security setting to allow my bank, Chase, to load cookies, but I guess Chase's cookies get deleted along with all of them when I close FF. When I reload FF and go to Chase and enter my user name and password, I am bounced off and have to have them send me an authorization code which gets sent to me in an email and then I have to copy the code # and past it into a field on a special challange page along with my password. Finally I get to the log in page again and have to enter my user name and password all over. Is there any way to make certain cookies exceptions to being erased when I log off of FF? I do not want most cookies on my computer for obvious reasons. Is there an add on that will solve my problem?

Please try this: Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Privacy, click Exceptions... and type in chase.com and Allow. Additionally in the same tab you may also have to make sure that if Clear history when Firefox closes is enabled, click Settings... and uncheck Site Preferences.

Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
Make an Allow exception for the ones that you want to keep.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
You can inspect and modify the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences" (Site Preferences includes the cookie exceptions)
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies that have an allow exception.
I am running Aurora under Linux and don't have tools---options--privacy.
How can I ensure cookies from my bank and a few other sites are retained ?
On other platforms instead of Tools > Options use:
- Linux: Edit > Preferences
- Mac: Firefox > Preferences
- Windows: Firefox > Options or Tools > Options
Press F10 if the menu bar is hidden on Windows and Linux
But there is no "exceptions" to the "accept no cookies" option. That means I have to accept all cookies, then what? If I choose to delete them upon closing FF, the bank's cookies will also be deleted. Or am I missing something here ??

Well as I said..I don't have tools>>>options but aside from that I think I understand what you are trying to say. Still seems excessively complicated to just ensure that cookies from 8 to 10 sites are retained. Or maybe that's the idea ?

As an example of " excessively" complicated, when I came back here to reply in FF, I got a simple "Access Denied" when I tried to logon...as I had not included mozilla.org in sites to allow cookies. Took me a couple of minutes to figure out what was going on. Why couldn't the message read " Turn on Cookies Support" ?
