what is firefox.exe *32, and why must I continually manually close it through my application process? when I x out of firefox, I want it shut down, not remaining open in the background taking a crap load of memory and remembering my passwords. I have all of the privacy settings done to where it shouldn't remember anything. if there's not a way to turn this off, I will no longer be using firefox.

Have you tried exiting with File > Exit? I believe Windows versions of Firefox are still 32 bit? Maybe that is what the "32" means.

You can also try to update to the latest Firefox 14.0.1 version to get the latest bug and security updates.
