Why do duplicate and/or older versions of plugins/addons appear on startup?
I recently started using CCCleaner and ran an analysis of all the plugins and add-ons that are enabled for start-up on FireFox. Interestingly, many of the older versions of some add-ons and plugins appeared and are enabled. Moreover, several of the same programs appear more than once. Is this appropriate? Can the older versions of the the plugins/add-ons be disabled?

You're welcome
It is always best to uninstall outdated or malfunctioning extensions instead of disabling them (Firefox will still check for updates).
If you can't remove an extension then it is installed globally and you need to remove that via each program that added them.

You seem to have reset Firefox a few times and still have multiple Firefox profiles.

This is probably done in an older Firefox version because current Firefox versions move the previous folder to an Old Firefox Data folder on the desktop.
If you do not need any data from other than the profile that you currently use then you can remove all other profiles.
You can also remove older versions of plugins that are no longer needed and only keep the most recent plugin version.
You can see the path of plugins in the pluginreg.dat file in the profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
Thank you for your helpful reply. I deleted all of the outdated add-ons and disabled the outdated plug-ins. Disabling them was easier than eliminating them. Problem solved. Firefox now loads quickly and everything works just fine.
Happy holidays!

Mission accomplished. Thanks again for all your help. I ran the updater and everything's cool.
