Banking web site has a "Print - Friendly View", text on the upper right side of the page which prints out the account information in a different format if you click on the text. All other print functions work ok. The problem is not their when using Internet Explorer. The other program is at Aflacs Web site, and the problem is very similar. When I click on the text that says "Print copy of Invoice" nothing happens, just like the bank text. They both work perfect with Internet Explorer. The problem started about 2 days ago. When it works right, a window will open up and show you what it is going to print and you click on the "print" text, and it prints. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank You Joe Anderson

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

When in Safe Mode...

  • The status of plug-ins is not affected.
  • Custom preferences are not affected.
  • All extensions are disabled.
  • The default theme is used, without a persona.
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored.
  • The default toolbar layout is used.
  • The JIT Javascript compiler is disabled.
  • Hardware acceleration is disabled.

If not, see this:

hello, is this site using pdf as print output by any chance? that's because firefox 19 has introduced its own integrated pdf viewer - in case this is causing problems you can switch back to the plugin you've used before to view pdfs. just go to firefox options > applications & scroll down and define the default action for the portable document format (pdf).

View PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer

Thank you the-edmister. Was a easy fix. Problem was gone in safe mode and reset Foxfire fixed it. Have a great day.

We have the same issue with Print and Print Preview, which should not have anything to do with Printers and Mfgs, right? I just tested this on two PCs, one with FF 20.x had the issue, one with FF 19.x did not. The FF 19.x PC was wanting to update, and once I did, my Print preview went from 6 pages to cut off at 2.

Addendum: After checking my version, I saw that 20.0.1 was out of date and upgraded to 21.0 ... same issues: sometimes printing is cut off.

rrice;

Try the printer reset described here:

Tried the printer rest (I had the printer_printer entry that was "user set"), and it had no impact. Other things of note:

1) this doesn't happen on all web pages, just some 2) pages work fine in IE

I saw some older bugs that mentioned issues similar print issues when there were broken divs or iframes ... that sounds like a likely cause here as well ... or something else content specific.

Thanks, Rick
