Hi vidyamarihemanth,

thanks for your consideration and reply.

problems is, as i said, i need to backup the bookmarks that are currently ON my android device (samsung galaxy sII, android 2.3.4, firefox nightly builds)

your method is a good one for people who need to move their backup FROM the computer TO the android device (if only you can import it via firefox mobile...), but I need to do THE EXACT CONTRARY.

If anyone got an idea... up! i've looked in every single folders of android (up the sdcard too) and wasn't able to find anything :'( and firefox doesn't offer anything but SYNC :'(

hey 458956145786321456954321354645, can i inquire why you wouldn't want to use sync for this task?

accessing the bookmarks on android directly is very hard, since all profile data is stored on the \data partition and you'd have to root your device in order to access that. in addition they are stored in a database format which is different to the one that is used on desktops, so you can't just directly import that file from mobile to your firefox profile on desktop...

Many cell phones have a companion computer program where you can transfer files and whatnot, including making backups. See if yours has that from the cell manufactures web site.
