Chosen solution

Don't despair. Many months of work have gone into an add-on for Firefox 29 called Classic Theme Restorer. You can get the most up-to-date internals and still make it look like the Firefox of recent years, or mix and match. More info: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

I have installed classic theme restorer but cant find anything but buttons after install. "file" "edit" "view" "help" are gone.where can I find this menu bar?

Hi brukerfranorge, there are three ways to turn on the menu bar:

  • tap the Alt key to display it temporarily > View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
  • right-click the new tab "+" button on the tab bar > Menu Bar
  • menu button (3-bar button) > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars

Edit: These are already built-in to Firefox 29, the extension might have a different setting or override in its Options dialog.
