Thunderbird running on Windows 7, not able to send email direct from MYOB

Some months ago I upgraded my computer from XP and am now running windows 7 pro, I have been using Thunderbird for many years. I have been also using MYOB and on the XP computer had no problem sending emails direct from MYOB throught Thunderbird to my clients. Now that I have Windows 7 I cannot send emails from MYOB. I only have one email program and yes it is set as default. My question is with Thunderbird updated to 24.5.0 as of 29/04/2014 is Thunderbird now MAPI compliant or is it still simple MAPI API. When will Thunderbird work correctly with MYOB and other similar programs?
