Just signed up for sync and set master password, can't get back to my password list - want to "sign in to sync", but the nav pane just shows my email address!

According to the Firefox tour, I should be able to use the drop down menu "sign in to Sync and get back to my password list. But the menu doesn't offer me "sign in to sync" - it just shows my own e-mail address, which doesn't help. How can I access my password list, which is why I started on this in the first place?

If you see your email address in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list then that means that you are logged on to your Sync account. You can click that email address line to go to Options > Sync.

What do you see in Tools > Options > Security ? What happens if you click the Saved Passwords button?

Sorry, the Master Password feature isn't compatible with the latest version of Sync. Sounds rather silly to me to not be able to use a Master Password with Sync, but that's the way it currently is.

The Sync developers are working on an enhancement to fix that, but it might take a few new version releases before it is available again.

My suggestion for now is to copy the files which are related to the storage of Password data into each Firefox 32 or later Profile.

Many thanks, cor-el - when I first posted, clicking my e-mail address produced nothing - hence my query. But it does now, and allows me to find my list as you suggested. Solved!

Thanks so much for this info. I lost all my passwords because I didn't know that having a master password would disable password sync. Luckily I had a backup of the Users folder of my old partition and, using your method, I could restore all my passwords!! It is amazing also that it seems fairly straightforward to get someone else's password list in this way!
