get rid of yahoo search.. return to google search NOT GOOGLE CHROME
Something happened with last mozilla update. I keep getting yahoo search in my search engine box, and under the tools option box, there is no option to select browser access anymore.
another confusion is between the search engine used and the browser. I want to use google search engine on mozilla, I dont want to google chrome
Also there is a flag that comes up on my windows 7 laptop when i try to change the yahoo search box... something about content not trusted
I'm not a computer geek, all i know is after most recent windows update and mozilla update, mozilla has gone haywire. I want the old mozilla back with a google search option on mozilla not google chrome, and NO YAHOO SEARCH WITH FLAGS ABOUT HAZARDOUS CONTENT AND SITE NOT TRUSTED
WHO IS PROGRAMMING THIS JUNK ANYHOW?????

Hello,
Sounds like a third party installation has hijacked your search bar. If you find suspicious looking extensions in your add-ons page, can you try the following steps?
- Click the menu button and choose Add-ons.
- In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
- Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
- Click the Remove button.
- Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
After Firefox restarts, install the Search Reset Tool. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.
For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.
If the above doesn't work, try running some anti-malware scans:
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Did this fix the problem? Please let us know!

Firefox is a web browser and not a search engine. It also has no connection with the separate Google Chrome web browser.
