It may be possible to reinstall the add on, however I think you have to remove it from the Control Panel.
Your System Details shows;
Installed Plug-ins
Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 12.1.4.154
What makes you think it is listed as unknown?
Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

I am using WIN XP PRO SP 3.0 21 bit on a desktop When I ask if my plug ins are up to date, the list shows 'RESEARCH' Now I have just in the last 5 days been updating all the Adobe programmes, as I was having a problem uploading pics/photos on Firefox. Now this all started after I updated Firefox about 10 days ago.... I am sick & tired of uninstalling & re-installing these programmes.... I have at last been able to upload a pic on my Status on Facebook, but still cannot upload a pic in a message, nor can I on a forum.....or change my profile pic, for that matter..... I have been told I must/need to update all the plugins, isn't there a way to do this without uninstalling them all first? Please can someone help me, this is the 3rd forum I have posted this question to....it is sooo frustrating.... Peace & Love folks Sylvia
UPDATE...I was able to upload a Birthday pic on a friend's Status earlier today, now I cannot do that either, I just tried once again. Also, on Facebook, I am experiencing some weird things, like other people pics not showing, (coming & going) and Emoticons sometimes partially missing....so weird.Help!! Sorry if I'm not explaining myself properly....

@SlimSylv you can set the plugins to automatically update from the Settings in the Gear menu on about:addons
However yes, sometimes it is required to uninstall the old one to install a new one. If the above information does not resolve your issue, please consider creating a new thread containing the specific details of your issue.
