After last update I have Yahoo! in my top bar next to bookmarks. How can I remove everything about yahoo from my firefox? I already removed it in the add ons.

I have removed yahoo from the Add-on manager and removed the yahoo toolbar and yahoo theme but on my top bar, the bar that says Firefox then File Edit View History Bookmarks and now there is Yahoo! there. I do not want anything about yahoo on my computer. How can I remove this? No matter how many times I reset my search somehow yahoo gets involved. I am really disappointed that when I updated firefox you installed this yahoo stuff. I appreciate any help in getting rid of yahoo so I don't have to delete firefox.

Sounds like you may have installed the Yahoo Edition of Firefox - a special build made by Yahoo. Usually says so in Help > About Firefox.

If that is the case, uninstalling that special build and installing a genuine build obtained directly from Mozilla should get rid Yahoo, except for the Search Engine and some default prefs that are quite easily changed. https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

Hi ddevine,

Here's some information about how to change the default search engine in Firefox - http://mzl.la/MOtkQ0

You can also read more about why the change was made on the Mozilla Blog - https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/11/19/promoting-choice-and-innovation-on-the-web/

Please let me know if this answers all your questions.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

I already changed my search engine. Sounds like I just need to stop using Firefox for my browser and delete everything on my computer from them and Yahoo. Thank you.

Just to let you know, and anyone else with this questions, I did what you suggested and you were correct. I now have my firefox back without the Yahoo! additions. I still had to go in and remove yahoo as the search engine, etc... But, once I did that my firefox seems to be free of yahoo. Thank you for your help.

Google is no longer the default search engine in en-US Firefox. Google is still one of the search engines it comes with.
