I just wrote a lengthy description of what was happening and then when I tried to send it - I got an error message and it kicked me out - I do not want to have to do this again.

Thunderbird is not working with Mail Chimp - when I put in my email address tied to my Etsy shop: theeclecticbazzar in the spot where emails go - see the photo it does not work. I sent myself a test email with the campaign in it and all the other links - facebook and etc work - but when I click on the email icon nothing happens and the weird thing is that it locks up Thunderbird and it will not open unless you reboot the computer. It works fine from their side but not from mine.

I assume that the email link in the HTML is simply a mailto: link. If it is it should work. If it is a front end for a JavaScript that sends mail then it will not work as Thunderbird does not support scripts in email. They are an unnecessary security risk.

So things that can mess up MailTo: links.

Operating system not knowing what the default mail client is and anti virus which sometime assumes all mailto links are an attempt to send spam and block them
