how do I set up an auto-reply when I will be gone for extended time
I am out of my office for 3 weeks and need to let people know who to contact in my absence. I need to set it up on my computer so that it auto replys to all people emailing me.

usually best done on your providers web mail. Why? because it is a server function. to reply 24/7 upon receipt, not on download
I am at home recovering from surgery and trying to set this up from here. It can't be this hard...
It's not that hard. Do it at your providers server like suggested. It is not like you have to get in the car and drive there.
