doesn't show if login attempt is successful

I am using version 45.1.1 (but with previous version there is the same problem) and I have several email accounts mostly hotmail but also gmail and local phone company. The problem is that sometimes the system does not download emails because it cannot log in but doesn't tell me so I have no idea if login is successful. The message at the bottom left is well.... "lousy" and I would like to ask the developer to make a better one where successful login on EACH email account is outlined for a few seconds (like a small popup screen where the list of logins is listed) so that we can be sure that each account has been serviced. Another problem (a small one) is that the progress bar at the bottom is out of alignment

The latest release version is 45.3.0.

To me that would be quite annoying, and I wouldn't want to have such a pop-up. In any case, you'll get an error if Thunderbird fails to connect to a server for any of your accounts.

It shows a failed attempt if the password doesn't work (and way too often it forgets the password) but it doesn't say anything if it cannot connect for other reasons. Personally instead of guessing I would prefer to have a small popup screen showing the sequence of logins for the various email accounts and maybe a check mark for successes and failures which after a few seconds it could go away. I don't think that there can be such a big difference between these two versions since the same behavior was present in version 11.
