When trying to find text on a page that is contained within an <option> tag inside a <select multiple="multiple"> HTML tag, it is ignored.

For example, if the source of the page is as follows:

<body> <select multiple="multiple"> <option value="myValue">sitemap</option> </select> </body>

..and you bring up FIND using CTRL-F and type "sitemap", it won't find, even though it's clearly visible on the page. [see attached screenshot]

I tested this on Firefox v51.0.1 x64, both in Win7 and Win10.

Any ideas? Is this just a bug? If so, can someone add it to the list to fix?

Thank you!

You would have to inspect the Page Source to find text that is part of such tags. You can only find text that is visible by default.

Hi Cor-el (great name ;) )

Thanks for your reply. Please see screenshot -- the text IS visible -- I just mentioned the html tags to give a more specific account of the issue.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?
