Using firefox, my google pg and searches were in either german, czech, or dutch. Checked my avast vpn, had been reset to frankfurt, Germany. I'm in usa, and vpn was set to a city here, near me. It got reset shortly after I facebook friended an Israeli lady who lived in berlin. did someone hack my email, google, firefox, or vpn? How did this happpen?

Password I will comment on that in a follow up post. Main question about that is have you something important you are looking for & what was the DISPLAY name you used previously.

Email VPN and any google or Facebook accounts You need to take that up with the support people of those services or software.

Firefox Searches. Essentially there are two slightly different methods.

If you may use a search provider directly from their own site e.g. Google that may then suggest you sign on to that site. They probably have settings you may change including choice of language, and will try to customise results depending on the info they have and settings chosen.

If you use Firefox it has search engines built in and choices of what to use. Normally only one search engine is used on the various firefox search methods, See also

Problem has been solved. I don't no how my vpn ended up seeing me as being in Germany, but I did find the obscure link to reset that. FF was NOT the problem. But thank u for u r helpful comments. I have reason to suspect that a person in Germany or their acquaintances may have had something to do with this. I ran servicesrepair, a tool I downloaded, which replaced the hundreds of missing reg keys and many deleted services ALL relating to comp security. Worked for me, yet I cannot endorse, nor do I accept responsibility for anyone who chooses to use this program. B4 this, mbam found 3 viruses that I tracked to someone I briefly created a separate account for so she could take an online class. Deleted prefetch's, cleared ie browser history, cleared ff cache, ran ccleaner, rkill, jrt, and deleted her account. Set for chkdsk /f, and restarted. Ran mbam again and other listed progs, was clean. Ran services restore again, restarted again with check disk, problem solved. Hope this is helpful to someone....

I think its problem of your VPN. I had faced the same issue when I was a user of free or unreliable VPN. Using free or unreliable VPN is pretty risky Because IP address which is given by free or unreliable VPN is already blacklisted or it is possible that unreliable VPN slow down the speed of your internet or your device. If you want to use fast and reliable VPN, then you can use Express VPN. It is better than any other VPN it provides 30 days money back guarantee. I am using Express since 5 months and never faced any issue.
