I am having problems with Firefox not loading some sites. They work fine on other browsers. I think the issue started after installing a trial of Pure VPN which I have now uninstalled.

The sites either don't load and give the 'We're having trouble finding that site' page, or they load without images. Sometimes they might load after repeated attempts.

I have refreshed and reinstalled Firefox. Other browsers are ok

Then this means the VPN did a stealth install of their contributing software onto you system without you suspecting it. I advise uninstalling Pure VPN and go to your uninstall location in control panel and find and remove all suspicious VPN installed software. And then file a complain with PureVPN for their malicious software installs that installed without your knowledge or permission thus leading to your problem and see how they respond back to resolve your problem. And if you reinstalled FF make sure you did delete the Mozilla folder cause sometimes those programs Addons hides in there and if you delete the folder that will kill those programs.

I started getting some problems using chrome as well and I seem to have solved the issue by following the instructions here

http://www.incrediblelab.com/dns-probe-finished-bad-config-error-fixed/

Which seemingly flushes out the internal catalog of IP addresses
